Checklist Templates
Checklist Templates (/templates) is Coordinator-only. It manages the district-wide templates that every new Area or Division contest starts from — see Creating a Contest, which snapshots whichever template is currently active for the chosen contest type.
Active template
Each contest type (Area, Division) has exactly one active template at a time. Activating a template deactivates whichever one held that spot before. A template with no tasks can't be activated — that would hand every new contest an empty checklist.
Cloning
Rather than editing an active template directly (which wouldn't affect contests already created from it), clone it to start a new version, make your changes, then activate the clone when it's ready.
Editing a template
Open a template to edit its tasks — organized into the same five sections as a contest's checklist (Working a Contest's Checklist). For each task you can set:
- Section and an optional due offset (days before the contest date it's due).
- Details and an action note.
- A linked helper role — ties the task to a specific role (e.g. Chief Judge) for context.
- One level of sub-tasks. A task with sub-tasks can't itself become a sub-task, and sub-tasks can't be nested further.
Reorder tasks within their section using the move up/down controls.
Editing a template only affects contests created from it afterward — contests already running keep their own snapshot and are unaffected.
